The finale is quite possibly the best one I've seen. It easily is on par with the first season and sometimes even surpasses it. Right off the bat, the third and final season War of the Damned just grabs you by the guts. Overall Vengeance was the weakest season but gave me hope for the final season. New Spartacus, played by Liam McIntyre, had a tough time getting into the groove and coupled with the weird pacing of the story, the first half of Vengeance is pretty weak but it picks up toward the end and Liam finds his stride. After the watching the awesome mini season Gods of the Arena (which is by far the most consistent season) I was totally prepped for Vengeance but then I found out (very late I might add) that Andy Whitfield, the actor who played Spartacus, had died and been replaced.įor the second time I considered stopping watching but I pressed on. The first season was awesome from start to finish with the season finale being especially epic. Many months later I finally decided to give the show a second shot on Netflix and am I glad I did. When I first watched Spartacus: Blood and Sand I couldn't get through half of the first episode.
